MCGOVERN, FARRELL J. - Farrell J. McGovern died August 23, 1999 . He was born August 27, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to James F. and Catherine (Schmidt) McGovern. He was a Marine Corp Korean War Veteran (1949-1952); a retired Battalion Chief and 38 year veteran of the New York City Fire Department (1955-1994). He was a 32 year summer resident of Breezy Point, NY, a 27 year resident of Crestwood, and an active member of Annunciation Parish. He was a longtime Volunteer and Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 6, Crestwood; a longtime volunteer of the annual Cardinalës appeal; Coach of the Annunciation Parish baseball team (1986-1987), and Aide to the Grand Marshall of the Yonkers Saint Patrickës Day Parade, 1992. The loving husband of Marcella Donovan; beloved father of James, Cathleen, Stephen, Eugenia, David, Owen, Robert and Maura, daughter-in-law, Deirdre and grandfather of Anna, Emily, and Grace; beloved brother of James (deceased), Francis, Kay, Luke, Jerry, and Donald; and uncle to 24 nieces and nephews.
