Barbara Ann (Shay) Rafferty entered into eternal rest on February 5, 2010 at Good Samaritan hospital. Barbara was a longtime Haverstraw resident and worked several years with the Haverstraw Town Police as a civilian employee until retiring in 1988. After moving to Harriman she became an active member of St. Anastasia's church in Harriman NY. She joins her parents Harold and Anna Shay in heaven. Barbara was a devoted wife for 42 years to Ralph W. Rafferty. she is survived by her brother William Shay, and his wife Colleen. Barbara leaves behind four children; Tammy Volpe, and her husband Anthony, Paulette Rafferty, Peter Rafferty and his wife Phyllis, Kim Pelfrey and her husband John. Barbara's most cherished gifts were her twelve grandchildren; Daniel and his wife Stacie, Emily, Malerie, A.J., Jonathan, Andrew, McKenna, Amanda, Jacob, Brylee, Lucas, and baby Isabella. A wake will be held 7-9 P.M. Monday February 8th and 2-4 & 7-9 Tuesday February 9th at GEORGE M. HOLT FUNERAL HOME INC. 50 New Main St. Haverstraw N.Y. 10927. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 AM Wednesday February 10th at St. Peters Church 115 Broadway St. Haverstraw NY 10927.
