Sidney William Berezin M.D (1919 - 2009), of Rockland County, NY died on Monday October 12, 2009 in the comfort of his home at the age of 89. He was born 1919 in New York City. He graduated from NYU in record time with honors. He attended NYU Medical School and specialized in pediatrics. Upon graduating from medical school he served in the US Army caring for children of servicemen. He was the first pediatrician in Rockalnd County, New York providing care to generations of children until he was 85. He served as the department chair at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a highly respected member of the medical community and was referred to as "the dean of pediatrics". His life was dedicated to medicine and caring for children. In 1944 he married Miriam and they started a wonderful life together in Spring Valley, NY . Miriam and Sidney were life long partners in everything and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year. He is survived by his three children, Stuart, Sheryl and Marc and seven grandchildren.
