Dr. Cyril R. McGinnis, a long time resident of Briarcliff Manor, died on August 18, 2008 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Dr. McGinnis worked as a clinical psychologist affiliated with Phelps and maintained a private practice. He was born the oldest of three sons on April 15, 1936 to Cyril R. McGinnis and Helen Kelly in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. McGinnis was a graduate of Duquesne University and earned his masters at Fordham and doctorate at St. John's University. He is predeceased by his brother Paul and is survived by his youngest brother John, his loving wife of 50 years Eva Marie McGinnis, three children Tim, Karen, and Hollee, their families, and five grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving father and beloved counselor. Visitation to be held on Thursday 7-9PM and Friday 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Waterbury-Kelly Funeral Home, 1300 Pleasantville Road in Briarcliff Manor, NY. Funeral Service/Mass will be held on Saturday at 10AM at St. Theresa's Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
