Alice Monteleon, a longtime Hastings-on-Hudson resident, died peacefully on August 3, 2008 at the St. John's Hospital. Born on September 20, 1918 in Motherwell, Scotland, where she also attended school, to Thomas and Anne McGuinness Mullen, she was 89. From 1971 to 1981, Alice was employed as a clothing assistant at Children's Village, returning as a part-time worker in 1983 and also served as a volunteer for many years. She married her loving husband Nicholas J. Monteleon in St. Mary's Church in Yonkers. He predeceased her in 1990. Devoted mother of Thomas Monteleon of Bullhead City, AZ and Brian Monteleon of Albany, NY. Dear sister of John Mullen of Scarborough, Canada and the late Joseph and Thomas Mullen, both of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and Moira Quartuccio of Croton-on-Hudson, NY and Cissie Kelly of Scotland. Also survived by two cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, Inc., 15 Spring St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Church on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Lung Association preferred. www.SinatraFFH.com
