Elizabeth Hicks Parker of Stony Point, NY passed away at her home on February 24, 2007. She was 77 years old. Mrs. Parker was a Math teacher and Math Department Chairman in the Clarkstown Central School District from 1954 to 1965. She was born on August 7, 1929 in Nyack, NY to Walter Hicks and Florence M. Favre. Elizabeth graduated from Congers High School and Albany State University where she earned both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Mathematics. On June 27, 1964, she married G. Gilbert Parker in Haverstraw Methodist Church. Mrs. Parker had previously lived in Valley Cottage. She was a member of the Haverstraw Methodist Church and the Trinity United Methodist Church in Stony Point, while also being a member of the 19th Century Club. Mrs. Parker will always be remembered for her dedication to the Stony Point Girl Scouts. She served as a Service Unit Chair and Troop Leader and was a 35 year member of Girl Scouts in Rockland County. Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, G. Gilbert Parker of Stony Point. A daughter, Laurie-Anne Mackey and h er husband, James of Stony Point and a son, George G. Parker, Jr. and his wife, Jill of Mexico, NY, along with six grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, David, Jenna Mackey and Ellen, Julieann Parker, and a brother, Walter Hicks of Congers. Visitation will be on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the A.W Dutcher's Sons Funeral Home with a Funeral Service Wednesday, February 28 at the Trinity United Methodist Church at 11 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Rockland, Trinity United Methodist Church, Stony Point, NY and the Stony Point Girl Scouts Pot of Gold Fund A.W.
