BASIC FUNCTION
Assist with all mechanical and electrical repairs and preventive maintenance of production equipment primarily in the Packaging Center. Evaluate, diagnose and implement solutions for equipment failures. Assist with planning and coordinating Packaging projects and major repairs. Order and inventory spare parts and supplies. Track, delegate, supervise and participate in preventive maintenance tasks. Assist in the press, plate and warehouse areas when required. Work closely with vendors and make calls for technical assistance when additional help is needed to resolve problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Closely assist with department supervision and perform hands on newspaper production equipment repairs and preventive maintenance primarily in the Packaging Center.
Work under the supervision of the Assistant Production Maintenance Manager.
Lead staff and perform daily work assignments. Schedule and coordinate major repairs.
Detailed record keeping of repairs, equipment maintenance and parts inventory.
Coordinate Ferag, MMMS SLS and K&M Titan inserter computer repairs, upgrades and maintenance with internal IT departmental and vendors.
Train personnel.
Perform all other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent required. Formal mechanical, electrical, or trade school skills required or a minimum of (5) year’s experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical failures on production equipment. Above average electro/mechanical aptitude is required. Basic machine shop skills required. Must be experienced in the use of hand and power tools. Above average computer and electronic skills a must. Must be proficient in reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics as well as other documentation used to facilitate equipment repairs. Must possess good supervisory, communication, record keeping, and organizational skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and have regular access to a vehicle for travel to local vendors or other Gannett properties. Also required, a valid license to operate fork and clamp truck equipment.

BASIC FUNCTION
Service account managers and advertisers. Perform all duties in account manager’s absence. Responsible for order entry, phone coverage, and scheduling Joint Promotion pages. Organize and submit ad copy, art and layout by deadline. Complete accurate advertising orders, submit client contracts and complete sales reporting in a timely manner. Must be able to interact with Journal News clients and will be expected to quote rates/ad costs and schedule ads. Provide revenue updates and research account history through Journal News billing systems. Work with staff in accounting and ad operations to ensure issues are quickly resolved.

BASIC FUNCTION
Ensure that the various products produced on the night shift are loaded correctly, and that the trucks depart on time as scheduled. Maintain accurate daily productions reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify that the correct amount of products are received and distributed for the various NYC, NJ, and El Diario and USA Today papers. This includes any special sections, overruns or other products that have to be delivered, etc. Verify the loads of all daily products including the advances (i.e.: The Journal News, Daily Record and The Hour).
Coordinate functions between the Packaging Center Dock operations and Single copy trucking.
Ensure that the trucks depart on time and with the correct loads. This includes any special sections, overruns or other products that have to be delivered to the various regions.
Produce skid reports and tags for the above mentioned products on a daily basis. Complete daily production reports for all editions. Process the press orders for the weekend production runs.
Supervise the distribution of the comic advances and the Sunday completes.
Process bundle tops for completes and corresponding paperwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Good Math skills, computer knowledge, 3 years experience in newspaper business and knowledge of our distribution area. Ability to multi- task and work in a deadline oriented atmosphere. Must have valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate functions between the Packaging Center Dock operations and Single copy trucking.
Assign staff to cover all tasks. Prepare daily work schedules and schedule vacations. Keep accurate records for hours worked and verify timecards. This includes the Temp scheduling.
Prepare press orders, skid tags and skid reports for the various Home Delivery Distribution Centers.
Responsible for performance appraisals for direct reports.
React to change productively and handle essential tasks as assigned and maintain quality control.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate; College helpful. Minimum 3 years of Packaging Center experience. Able to meet constant deadlines; Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Must be detailed oriented. Technical and mechanical skills a plus.
