What if I don't know what size announcement I need?
For now, choose the size you think would fit based upon your word count and picture option. We will call you if your text does not fit into the size you have chosen.

Who determines the wording of my announcement?
You do. Nobody can tell your story better than you can. If you need assistance we will be more than happy to help you. We reserve the right to edit, refuse, reject or cancel an ad at any time.

When will my announcement appear?
All announcements appear in the Life & Style section of The Journal News every Sunday. Your announcement should appear within 1-2 weeks after information and payment has been received. Errors or incomplete forms will delay publication, so please complete the form carefully.

What if my parents are divorced?
If they are not remarried, provide their names and home towns. If they are remarried, provide their names with their spouses, and their home towns.

What if a parent is deceased?
We usually use this wording: Mrs. Kay Smith has announced the engagement of her daughter, June Smith, to John Jones. The future bride is the daughter of the late Bob Smith.

What about photographs?
Photographs can be included with certain packages, and must accompany announcement form when submitted.

•Sending photos by e-mail
The photo you submit by e-mail may be color or black & white, however, it must meet these technical requirements:
* The resolution must be 200 dpi
* It must be in .jpg or .jpeg format
* Use your last name as the filename, eg. "smith.jpg"

•Want your photo returned?
If you would like us to return your photo, you must do two things:
* Print your name and address on the back of the photo, using a felt-tip pen. DO NOT use a ballpoint.
* Enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope when you send us the photograph.
After we have received your announcement information, you will be contacted to confirm accuracy and provide payment.
Always put your name on the back of your photo; use a felt tip pen, please!
