Why are you running for office or seeking re-election?
I am an educator with bold ideas for decreasing spending, and improving education services to all students.

I am passionate for ensuring Blind Brook’s educators and staff have what they need and want to provide for a World Class Education to all students.

If elected I will spearhead a solution to save our residents money by creating a Purchasing Services program across Westchester and the region. Leveraging off strong savings in districts regionally, all districts will benefit.

I will initiative Blind Brook//'//s 2020 Strategic Plan of Excellence, and work with district stakeholders to establish long-term plans for curriculum, technology, safety, and more. Ideas include launching a new Humanities Research Program in high school, and continuing computer coding in the elementary school, which I championed, now launching in 2014-2015.

What in your personal, civic or professional experience recommends your election or return to office?
As a business man, I am more qualified than any other board member candidate for getting to the bottom line in the financials.

As an educator, currently consulting with top districts in the U.S. and private schools in Europe, in STEM Education, I understand the value of good pedagogy in all content areas, not just math and science. I understand best practices and am a good collaborator on our school board.

I believe in process if a teacher or parent wants something, there are clearly ways to potentially make it happen in Blind Brook.

In Summer 2014 am working with Westchester’s STEM initiative and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, of Tarrytown, providing free, STEM Education Fellowships across the region, with a program I created and deliver for NASA and Columbia University.

What would be your top three priorities if you are elected or re-elected?
Top priorities include addressing safety (e.g., parking lot of the elementary school); education (e.g., expiring superintendent contract, curriculum issues and World Class Education for all students); and financials (e.g., joint transportation and purchasing cost sharing initiatives to yield over 500K savings during the next term).
By establishing process and input from all stakeholders (i.e., students, parents, teachers, community members, staff) each of these will be successful.
