PATRICK JOSEPH DRISCOLL

The 10th annual "Walk With Joe" will take place at 10 a.m., Sept. 10 at Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Manalapan, where Driscoll was a long-time resident.

Last year's walk attracted approximately 1,300 people, the biggest in its history, event chairman Jordan Maskowitz told the Asbury Park Press at last year's event.

State and local politicians attended have attended the event in the past, and a 3-foot-long section of a steel beam from the World Trade Center was on display at last year's walk.

According to the "Walk With Joe" website, more than $175,000 has been raised since the first walk, with proceeds benefiting various charities, foundations and organizations.

Driscoll was an outdoorsman and was on Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001 on his way to Yosemite National Park in California for his annual hiking trip.

Those interested in registering for the walk or wishing to donate should visit www.walkwithjoe.com.
