EDWARD DESIMONE III

-

Details
His father remembers. He was a good boy, says Edward DeSimone III's father from his home in Howard Beach. More importantly, he was a good man, a good husband and a good father. "His kids weren't ones to sit playing computer games all day," Edward DeSimone Jr. says. "Eddie loved the beach, and taught his kids to love it." The family went to the beach as often as possible, crabbing, surfcasting, fishing off piers. "You know," says DeSimone, "if he always had a fishing rod in one hand, he had a sauce pan in the other. He loved to eat and he loved to cook." Whenever DeSimone came to visit, his son would always nag him: "Dad, don't forget that Italian bread from Brooklyn." If a stranger came to visit his house, his father remembers, he would make sure tthat person was comfortable, happy, and well-fed. "He'd throw a roast beef at you," DeSimone says. "My son had everything to live for," he says. "The only bad thing he ever did was go to work that day."
