LOUIS F. AVERSANO

Louis Aversano's family has grown over the past 10 years, but mourning remains a part of life.

"My mom (Doris) misses him more and more each day. He was the love of her life and it has been very difficult to move forward. My father was it for her,' Aversano's daughter, Lisa Procaccio of Manalapan, said.

But life has gone on for the family. Since Sept. 11, 2001, Lisa has gotten married and added two grandchildren to the family, for a total of six. And now there is a great-grandson, named for the great-grandfather he never knew.

"He was a doting grandfather," Procaccio said of her father. "He would have loved being a grandfather and a great-grandfather."

Aversano got the opportunity to bounce three of his six grandchildren on his knees, but the other three will never know the pleasure of spending time with their grandfather, Lisa said.
